The American Resort Development Association (ARDA) is the Washington, D.C. based trade association representing the vacation ownership and resort development industries. Established in 1969 as the American Land Development Association, ARDA today has close to 1000 members, ranging from privately held companies to major corporations, in the U.S. and overseas. Sapphire Resorts™ developer is an active Trustee Member of ARDA since 1990.

 

Sapphire Resorts™ managing agent, holds membership in the Canadian Resort Development Association (CRDA). CRDA is a Canadian not-for-profit National Association dedicated to the highest ethics in Timeshare. CRDA is a reciprocal member of ARDA, its US counterpart, and a signatory to GATE (Global Alliance for Timeshare Excellence). Sapphire Resorts™ predecessor was a founding member of CRDA and had served on its Board of Directors for several terms. The CRDA Gold Seal of Quality Assurance has been awarded to Sapphire Resorts™ each and every year. Sapphire Resorts™ adheres to the CRDA Code of Standards and Ethics.

 

Sapphire Resorts™ members have access to the Resort Condominium International (RCI) exchange network. RCI’s core business is Exchange Vacations. RCI provides its global community of more than three million timeshare owners worldwide with quality vacation experiences at nearly4,500 resorts in over 100 countries through RCI’s week-for-week and points-based timeshare exchange networks. RCI is consistently the global leader in membership, resort affiliations, exchanges, and quality exchanges, with more exchanges confirmed into RCI Gold Crown resorts each year than any other exchange company’s total worldwide exchanges.

 

Sapphire Resorts™ managing agent is also a member of the Cooperative Association of Resort Exchangers (C.A.R.E.) offering exchange opportunities between timeshare resorts. C.A.R.E. (Cooperative Association of Resort Exchangers) is a trade association established in 1985 by representatives of timeshare resorts who found that by exchanging vacation inventory among themselves, they were better able to satisfy their owners with increased vacation opportunities. Today, member companies are also able to utilize inventory and generate revenue through wholesale rentals while continuing to offer expanded exchange and fulfillment options.
C.A.R.E. member companies currently offer 2500 vacation properties and service approximately one million vacation owners and members. C.A.R.E. is an international organization, with members throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia.
